I've been translating as Japanese learning practice, and I have some questions I'd like to ask.

1. Is there a hidden timer for making translation notes? They don't seem to save if you make them too quickly.

2. Are sound effects required to be translated in order to consider an image Translated, rather than Partially_Translated?

3. How can I avoid filling a Captcha every time I want to edit a tag, preferably without paying?

4. Is there any way to see my own note edit history? I can click the number on my profile, but it does nothing.

I do not have the answer to all your questions, but:

1,3 yes, the timer is 10 seconds iirc, becoming a tag gardener would get rid of both the timer and the captcha. Reaching a certain account level would also remove the captcha. Not sure about that part, but I think users in the translator group are also exempt of those.
4. Never heard of any way of doing it. I don't think it's possible.

Thank you for the response!

I'm not very interested in the tagging side of things, but maybe I could join the translation group somehow. I don't know exactly what standard of quality they hold, but I try to abide by the translation guidelines and skip over content that I can't quite figure out.

That's definitely one of those "trust in leaving it up to the translator's discretion" things. I would say no, but it depends slightly on how they're being used. If a sound effect is the only clue for something happening (like an otherwise invisible ejaculation or a character doing something off-screen) absolutely add a note for that before marking the post as translated. But, like, the standard はぁs and ぱんs and such that are mostly just there to fill empty space are totally fine to leave untranslated, and may even be better to if wrapping a note around them would cover up something nice in the process.

I have definitely left some SFX untranslated because of the huge amount of space they covered. And sometimes I've counted as many as 20 individual SFX that don't add anything important. I've been marking these as Partially_Translated lately to be safe, but I may do as you recommend and use my personal judgement to decide.

Is it possible to add translations using only my smartphone?

I know how to do it in the computer, but I can't do it on the smartphone. And since I usually only use a computer at my work, it would be much safer if I did it on the cell instead.

Could someone provide a romanized name for 幽染·泠? I saw this post (gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=10094972) and wanted to add an artist tag, but i couldn't manage since it's chinese and no alternate source like twitter exists. Artist's pixiv's page: www.pixiv.net/en/users/13367415
Also, is there any guide on romanizing chinese names?
